HOW DO I UPLOAD MY PHOTO?

After you place an order, you'll receive a confirmation email with an upload link & image preparation instructions. When images are finished uploading, a success message will appear on the page.

WHAT ARE THE TURNAROUND TIMES?

Our normal turnaround times are 7-10+ business days and we ship using priority mail from Oakland, CA. If you have a large order (more than 10 different images) or are ordering large plates (larger than 12x12"), we will contact you with turnaround times. Let us know if you need something by a specific date, we can do rush orders for additional fees.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER?

We'll send tracking info via email as soon as your order is shipped.

WHAT DIGITAL IMAGES ARE BEST?

  • A digital photo large enough to print 5" long at 240ppi
  • Images from:
    • Digital cameras
    • iphone 4 or higher
    • samsung galaxy S II or higher
    • A scan from a print, negative, or slide
  • Subjects can be people, pets, landscapes, objects, or anything you can imagine

WHAT'S THE LARGEST SIZE YOU CAN PRINT?

24x24" is the largest we can print. Or a maximum of 24" on the longest side. Contact us if you'd like to place a large large format Tintype! Plates larger than 12x12" require longer turnaround time of 3-4 weeks.

HOW SHOULD I FRAME, DISPLAY, HANG MY TINTYPE?

We recommend you frame your tintype behind UV glass and not display it in direct sunlight. The image on the plate is delicate, so frames with thick photo mats or shadowboxes are ideal. You can also use a variety of display stands.

CAN YOU MAKE THEM LOOK THE SAME?

Nope! Tintypes are unique. Each plate is hand processed and the beauty of Tintypes are that each plate varies from contrast, to pour marks, and more. We've been doing this for almost a decade now, and weird things happen in the darkroom that we've never seen before.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

We do not offer refunds. We will reprint tintypes if they are damaged by the shipping process.

HOW DO YOU SHIP PLATES?

Orders are shipped USPS priority mail. They are insured and require signature confirmation.
